Fox News continually oversteps boundaries and fails to stick to the news, which they don’t report anyway. Commentator “Brit Hume has publicly called for Tiger Woods to convert to Christianity to find forgiveness and redemption following his sex scandal. And even after Tiger's apology — in which he reaffirmed his Buddhist faith —Hume still thinks Christianity is the best path for him”. This is America, Hume, where we are free to practice any religion we want. To make this fair Tiger should ‘publicly call for Hume to become a Buddhist.
It’s none of Hume’s business what Woods does in his private life to heal his marriage. There all sorts of definitions of Buddhism and whether it is a religion or a philosophy of life Woods is doing what is best for him. In all the explanations of Buddhism there is a code of morality, a meaning of life, a desire to improve one’s situation, cultivation or life by doing good deeds and purification of mind from mental impurities. Buddhism does not generally involve worship of a supernatural entity but there is an acceptance of a higher power. If all this is good enough for AA why is not good enough for Hume?
